Logistics & distribution

Logistics and distribution

How a wholesale order moves from enquiry to shipment, and which arrangements are agreed for each order.

Our approach

Arrangements agreed order by order

Wholesale orders vary widely: a mixed carton order for a city retailer and a full export load for an overseas importer need very different arrangements. Rather than publishing one standard service, we agree the logistics for each order as part of the quotation.

That covers how the goods are prepared, how they reach you or your forwarder, and which documents accompany them. Where a requirement cannot be met, we will tell you before an order is confirmed.

From enquiry to shipment

How orders are handled

  1. Stage 1

    Enquiry and order processing

Each enquiry is reviewed against the products, quantities and destination requested. Once a quotation is accepted, the order is confirmed in writing with its product list, quantities and agreed terms.

  2. Stage 2

    Product handling

Products are distributed as packaged by their manufacturers. Any special handling, such as for frozen products, or any packaging requirement of your own, is identified and agreed before the order is confirmed.

  3. Stage 3

    Shipment coordination

Collection or delivery dates, consolidation of mixed-brand orders, and the shipping documents required are coordinated with you for each order.

Domestic & export

What is standard and what is agreed per order

For every order

  • Every enquiry receives a reference number and is reviewed individually.
  • Mixed-brand orders can be requested in one enquiry.
  • Arrangements are confirmed in writing before an order is placed.

  • Shipping terms (for example, the Incoterm for export orders)
  • Palletisation, carton counts and load configuration
  • Frozen or temperature-controlled handling, where applicable
  • Export documentation for your destination
